St. Joseph’s College for Women goes synonymous with discipline and sound moral and ethical values all amalgamated in strong academics. An offshoot of 201-year-old Congregation of Jesus, Mary, Joseph (CJMJ), the college was established in 2010, to cater higher education needs of women students in fields of Arts, Commerce and Sciences on one side and Management and Computer Science on the other.
The college carries forward the vision and mission of its Founder Rev.Fr.
Mathias Wolff SJ, who enkindled the flame of liberating women through
education in 1822, and founded the Society of Jesus, Mary, Joseph at
Amersfoort, in the Netherlands for furthering the cause of women’s
education, and in India in 1904.
At present, the college offers both UGC and AICTE approved 11 Honours
Programmes. A dedicated and qualified faculty sets the seal for a
classroom experience that facilitates course content in theory and practice
fused with critical thinking. St. Joseph’s raises its collar high for the strong
values that the students imbibe from the vision of the college, a vision
recorded through core qualities of compassion and sensitivity both for
their peers and for the world at large.
It aims at continuous improvement of integrated education.
By inculcating in our learners, strong values along with the subject, we are
sure they become responsible citizens. Hence, we prepare and mould
them first as social beings and then scholars.
